The ELTA course has officially ended today. Despite the hard working days and nights we've had over this past month, I already know I will be missing it for some time to come. This has been my first teachers training course and I would have never imagined it would be so much fun and productive. I have met amazing people while learning a whole lot about myself and also on teaching English. I enjoyed working with different facilitators who have been running the course very patiently and guiding us through the process of teaching. Each facilitator brought their own critics and viewpoints allowing for enrichment throughout the term. I have come to understand that this teaching process is a never ending journey. The most attractive feature of it being that the learning is always taking place, both for the student and perhaps more for the teacher. Although this course is intended for teaching English, I can take all learned knowledge and easily apply it to different dimensions of my life.
Cheers to the ELTA team
Dear Mr Shahsavand
Great job, thank you all. I really appreciate all you and your team did during this course. (that was the easiest and shortest way to express my feelings)
At the beginning of the course I was totally depressed and I thought it was not possible for me to pass this course; because I was comparing myself with those experienced teachers who participated in ELTA as students. I really cared about the way they could talk English and how professional they were in teaching, which really bothered me.
But the further we went, I found that instead of regretting what I can’t do, it is better to change my vision on this course. It is not a competition. I am just here to learn, no matter how professional they are and even no matter what would be the result of the course I just have to use this opportunity and try to use the available experience and knowledge to learn something. And YOU were the cause of this thought. I am happy now cause I think I have made the right decision to participate in this course. I have found my way. No matter how long it will take, but I am not going to stop moving forward.
First of all I appreciate your supportive role in this course, I reckon you and your colleagues did an excellent job.
It was really productive and couldn't be better done mate. I really enjoyed it and I reckon it was challenging but fun. You guys shared your precious experiences with us which I consider it as a generous gift to us.
Everything was smooth although at the beginning it looked confusing but now I believe it was a smart approach from you guys and very to the point.
Any negative points? hmmm... The only thing I reckon is worth mentioning is that I didn't like the idea of giving classes to some of our classmate before the end of the course, I found it very confusing and I personally considered it as a hint to myself that may be I was not good enough, It could kill incentives, although I am sure you probably had a point to tell us by doing that but frankly speaking the point was not very clear mate...maybe it needed more ICQ's
All together I must say the course was brilliant and I feel great to find some new worthy friends in MFT.
Cheers and good luck bro,
First I’d like to thank our brilliant trainers. They're the best English teachers I've ever known. And about the course, it was really truly unbelievable. It was a month (actually more than a month) of hard work, but I really learned a lot. You know, you get new insights. You learn something new every single session, things you had no idea about before or thought they weren't that important. As soon as you finish the course, you're totally another person, let's say another teacher. For me though, ELTA has made me a little too meticulous. I think it's good and bad at the same time. You know, you gotta be absolutely prepared before you step in your class. But the bad point is, it's a lot of hard work for you as a teacher. Once you know every little detail about teaching, how can you not apply them in your work??!!
We had lots and lots of fun together. I really missed all my friends. ELTA makes friendship. It's all about cooperation, not competition.
And trust me; ELTA is worth each and every penny (LOL).
